The streets of the capital of Navarre prepare to welcome the traditional events of the Holy Week

According to legend, a terrible epidemic razed Pamplona in 1599. Its inhabitants, desperate and defenceless, saw no solution to their terrible plight. However, a Franciscan monk changed things through a divine revelation. The saving formula consisted in organising a procession during which the faithful carried the figure of Christ with the five wounds inflicted upon him on the cross.

Holy Week comes alive through public performances in Andosilla and Cabanillas

Andosilla during Holy Week is synonymous with the Living Passion of Christ. On Good Friday the townspeople participate in a performance of the last days in the life of Jesus. Later, at 11.30 am, you can shop in a Hebrew Market along the same streets at dozens of stalls selling local products.
