The Kider moving up tournament concluded the last day of San Fermín with a new exhibition of faculties of number one category, Koteto Ezkurra, who won Zeberio II-San Miguel together with his nephew Patxi Olazar Ezkurra.

It was an intense match played with rhythm and speed. It was Ezkurra who stressed the differences since he rounded off better than his rivals, a timid Patxi Zeberio, and helped Olazar in several occasions with blows of the sphere of the “zagueros”. Despite the hard task Julen San Miguel dazzled the spectators with his class.

The match began with several ties. Ezkurra got extremely mixed up in the final even from the first point. Ezkurra who completed a great fair (apart from the trophy he won this afternoon, he won fairly in the Kider Tournament semifinals against Altuna I-Etxebberría III, and defeated Bitoria-Altuna I-Urrutia) he showed his grace and nerve in this match.

On the contrary it took Olazar some minutes to enter the final. But when he did from the score of points, The “colorados” started to grew apart from their rivals. Although Ezkurra, began on the right footing, Zeberio II and San Miguel kept their cool on the first part which left several champion from Navarre´s drawing moves especially an implausible rebound carried out by San Miguel. From the second half Zeberio II was offside yet Olazar and Ezkurra were right on their services.

In the final

The greatest advantage came in the final stage apparently about to be ended but then the blue ones moved up with five points which increased the “run-run” of the pelota several decibels. Nevertheless uncle and nephew took up again the control of the situation till they won the “txapela”.

The fair of San Fermín put an end to a complete move up week in the Euskal Jai Berri Reyno de Navarra pelota which closes its doors untill the end of the summer. Galarreta pelota opens its doors again tomorrow after remaining closed for a week without holding matches. Hernani court reopens tis doors with the all-star match between Bitoria-Aizpuru and Etxeberria-IV Urrutia. The festival will be completed with these three matches: Ibarzabal-Astibia against Zulaika-Martínez I; Agirresarobe-Agirrezabala against Urriza-Ion; and Sarasua-Etxezabal against Larrea-Gaztelu.
