The new Larra Belagua Nordic Ski Centre opens its runs on Friday

Monday, 17 December 2007

Cross-country skiing is much older than one might imagine. In Norway and Russia it used to be a habitual method of moving around on the snow five thousand years ago. Even the Vikings did it...

This ski mode is today a resistance trial for those who practice it, as the goal is to travel long distances on flat terrain and gentle slopes.

You can practice this sport at the Larra Belagua Nordic Ski Centre starting on Friday 21 December and during the rest of the winter season.

The Centre’s facilities will be only partially open on that day, as there are works underway expected to conclude in 2008. Nonetheless, this winter you will have ample opportunity to enjoy the resort’s restaurant, bar and shop and be able to rent sports equipment.

The complex includes a central building, called El Ferial, which provides access to the El Ferial-Zanpori pistes that have already been finished, and a smaller building that provides access to the La Contienda runs, with five circuits covering 6.6 kilometres.
