Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso cars will run along the route normally followed by the bulls in Pamplona

Wednesday, 25 June 2008

Saturday 28. 8.00 am. Cuesta de Santo Domingo. Two Formula 1 cars will be warming up their engines to cover the 825 metres to the bull ring. The official drivers of Red Bull (David Coulthard) and Toro Rosso (Sébastien Bourdais) will take their machines up the cobbled streets accompanied by 150 bull runners in full garb. The bulls will end their race in the bull ring.

At 5.00 pm they will return to Avenida del Ejército, temporarily transformed into a high-speed track, where the cars will provide a 45 minute exhibition reaching speeds of above 240 km/hour. The urban circuit will be 2 kilometres long and fitted with protective fencing. Thousands of car-racing fans will get the chance to see these unbelievable machines close up.

Classic cars and Goitiberas
The Formula 1 cars will provide the setting for a motor-focused weekend that will include a classic vehicle meet on Saturday at the esplanade in front of the Pamplona Planetarium. For some added risk, the 9th World Goitibera Championship will take place under the attentive gaze of San Fermín. The most imaginative home-made contraptions will hurtle down the Cuesta de Santo Domingo seeking to beat existing speed records and win the trophy.
