A North American runner left unconscious and a Spaniard gored in a crowded and fast fourth Encierro

Seven injured, a young man from California received a serious concussion, a Spaniard was gored and another five received several contusions and hits during this fourth Encierro, which was the first one for the livestock El Ventorrillo.

With huge horns the 6 bulls crossed the old town in only two minutes twenty one seconds. Despite weighing more than 700 kilos, The El Ventorrillo livestock ran fast, but behaved well in Cuesta Santo Domingo and the Plaza Consistorial. A man was run over by the bull’s right before Curva Mercaderes.

One of the animals fell down at the entrance to Estafeta, into a pile of runners who had fallen. One of the runners was gored in the thigh, causing a 15 cm deep wound.  

 

A lot of runners fell down in Estafeta and the livestock ran over a few men. The bulls did not remain together during the whole run, which allowed participants to enjoy a small number of seconds of glory accompanying the beasts.
