Emotion and gratitude to the elders at a multitudinous Mass

A Mass in honor of the elders has been celebrated in the church of San Lorenzo with the presence of the Navarre Government headed by the Mayor of Pamplona Yolanda Barcina.

 

The episcopal delegated of the Pastoral de Enfermos, Jose Ignacio Martin Badules has insisted in his homily on the need for all learn from the vital lessons of the elderly and sick considered the most precious of our city.

 

In his message to those present, Martin Badules has congratulated the elders: everyone must discover the serenity and realism that the elderly and sick offer us. Martin Badules has blessed all navarre families, especially those responsible for the sick and elderly.

 

The episcopal delegate had words of gratitude to the authorities and rulers, highlighting initiatives such as games and distractions for the elders in public parks and lifts linking the Rochapea with the Old Town of the city that facilitate the access to the centre of the people honored on this day.

 

Martin Badules did not want to forget that in addition to medical care and social rights, the elders need affection.
 
Yolanda Barcina, Mayor of Pamplona, in statements to the International Press Office, has stood out the desire of the council to involve older people at the festival. She also emphasised the crucial role of these  people during the Sanfermines: they maintain the traditions and teach us to discover a way of understanding life. They, helps us build a better world.


A representative of the elders and the socialist Councillor Maite Esporrín on behalf of the Council have also made references to this better world.

 

In this church that hosts the Saint during the whole year, has sounded the rondallas of Yoar and Jus la Rocha, in an emotional act previous to the reception in the Consistory where the Pamplona Mayor Yolanda Barcina is going to receive three Navarre centenarians.
