The Police of Navarre has arrested 64 people and received 398 complaints of thefts and burglaries during these Sanfermines.

During the first 4 days of Sanfermines, the Police of Navarre has arrested 64 people for committing various crimes, less than last year in the same period in which they were register 98 people. Among these people arrested we can point out 18 people that have stolen some wallets, 19 have hurt others, and 14 people that have comitted different crimes against the public safety (4 for disobedience and resistance to the authority, one for sexual abuse and 8 for others crimes).

 

Moreover, there have been 398 complaints at the Office of Citizen Services of the police located in the Plaza del Castillo.  339 of them relate to thefts and 11 to burglaries with violence. Also, there are 17 complaints related to aggressions and damages.

 

Last year by this time, the police had dealt with 616 complaints, 557 of which were for thefts and 10 for burglaries. The number of complaints of theft has reduced to 40%, although we must bear in mind that last year, the start of the Sanfermines coincided with the weekend, a period in which this type of crime usually reaching its peak.
