Nobody was gored today, and there were much less participants than usual. The bulls from Nuñez del Cuvillo did a fast run in 2 minutes 37 seconds. There were successful runs, a lot of people fell and there was one wish in common for runners and spectators: to come back in 2009
Exactly like it happened in their last seven shows, the six bulls from Núñez del Cuvillo ran fast from the very beginning, all mixed among the leading oxen since only one of the beasts was black.
The whole group of bulls rapidly arrived to Curva Mercaderes where, despite some slips and stamps, began the run at Estafeta still together. When one of the bulls slipped, the group was divided and the runners found the perfect moment to beautifully accompany the bulls along their way through Estafeta.
Down in the corridor to the bullring, while some of the participants fought for finding the best side as close as possible to the animals, the bulls ran over a couple of runners. A few seconds earlier one of the animals stopped after a slip, but luckier this did not suppose any danger and continued its way to the bull ring with the rest of the livestock.
The bulls from Nuñez del Cuvillo left five injured behind. Nobody was gored at this not so crowded Encierro. Today, the last Encierro day, the song Pobre de mí (Poor of muyself) will be sang at midnight in front of the Town Hall to say good bye to San Fermín.
