At this stage in the summer you should have acquired experience at donning a red scarf around your neck. On 14 August you can do so again and go to the Town Hall Square in Tafalla, where the rocket announcing the start of the fiesta will be launched at noon.
You can then accompany the peñas, gaiteros and txistularis along the town’s streets. 15 August is the main day in honour of Our Lady of the Assumption and one of the most solemn events is the high mass in her honour (10.30 am).
Musical performances, bull running, bullfighting shows, wakeup calls and a fire bull are among the activities programmed to round off the seven days of feasting.
Many other towns in Navarre are also celebrating their local feasts in honour of their patron saints these days, such as Falces, from 16 to 25 August, with its famous bull running of El Pilón.
