The traditional laya race and roast chestnuts return to Artajona one more year

The calendar rules, and it is 29 November, feast of San Saturnino; so we travel to Artajona. Nothing is missing, the Race of San Saturnino on Saturday 29 and the chestnut roast held afterwards at the Plaza de los Fueros at 1.00 pm, will open the weekend.
On Sunday, the town’s children can enjoy themselves with the Japanese bombs starting at 11.30 am in the yard of the old school.
Then, at 12.00 noon, there will be an exhibition of aizkolaris and harrijasotzailes (tree trunk cutters and stone lifters) in the main Square and, just before lunch at 2.00 pm, the main event of the fiesta: the race to El Cerco on layas. Don’t miss it —a great show and much laughter are guaranteed.
