At 11.00 am sharp the doors will open to the 4th Organic Wine Fair at the Tierra Estella sports centre in the city on the banks of the Ega.
A few minutes later, the first of the 4 winetasting sessions to be held that morning will begin. These culminate in the award ceremony of the 2007 Popular Barrica prize at 2.15 pm.
You will also have the opportunity to taste all the wines from the organic wine bodegas and accompany them with tapas —made with organic ingredients, of course. There will also be activities for children, and the “Golden Aizkolaris Championship” in doubles, at 12.00 noon.
The festivities end on a musical note with the Pamplona band Rifter and Pulmón Verde from Andosilla.
Don’t miss the opportunity for a leisurely visit of Estella’s streets, and discover its beautiful palaces and mansions, such as the palace of the Eguías (16th century), noble mansion of the Ruiz de Aldas (17th century), the house of Fray Diego de Estella, a 16th century Plateresque palace, the Governor’s palace (17th century) and the old Gothic archways that served as entrances to the medieval shops and pilgrims’ hostels.
You can also go for a long walk through the Los Llanos park, surrounded by the River Ega, and then refresh yourself in the Agua Salada (salty water), a natural pool with medicinal properties on the banks of the river.
