The first encierro of the San FermÍn festivals with the Marques de Domecq bulls has been dangerous owing to the breaking of the herd at the second part of the Santo Domingo street, where a bull lunged at a runner. In this part of the course the herd broke up and completed the run separately in 3 minutes and 23 seconds.
The three bulls leading the encierro ran the 825 meters without danger for the runners in 2.30 minutes, and two more came into the ring shortly after, but the last one felt over the final of Estafeta street and some of the runners and the pastores had to help it to stand up and finish the course, that was fast and a little dangerous.

BEHAVIOUR IN THE ENCIERRO:
There are not many references to venture the behaviour of these bulls. It is considered a hard ranch and, because of that, the stars of bullfight don't like to confront them. The first time this ranch ran in Pamplona was 26 years ago, and the bulls spent a lot of time (4.58 minutes) but without injured, although one of the dobladores, Manolo de los Reyes, was hit by one of the animals. They did practically all the course alone as to two oxen were left behind the herd at the Cuesta de Santo Domingo. The bulls came into the bullring one by one, and one of them was helped to arrive to the corrals by the mozos with newspapers.
Last participation, 2005: Last year, four people were butted in the crowd. The bulls Cubatisto, Pitillito, Cubanoso and Yegüizo gored four young men during the 2.59 minutes of the untidy and dirty encierro. The average speed was 16.5 km./hour.
